  •  Thanks, grog! (14+ / 0-)

I've really enjoyed reading & learning about The Boze. I've had a soft spot for him for a while thanks to Cheers & Jeers, but now I feel like I know him. It's apparent how loved he was, what a fantastical life he had, and how full of thanks and love he was. He knew he hit the jackpot with you & the Mrs.

Having said that, I don't think I can read the next installment. Just can't do it. I can see where this is headed and just don't have it in me...

as therapeutic.  We all experience it at one time or another.

I'm still digesting the meaning of it all and trying to articulate that in writing.

      •  I think for me, (12+ / 0-)

my own loss is too recent, having sent Grandma Kitty the 13 y/o Labrador over the Rainbow Bridge on Oct 11th.

I often said about her "When it comes to brains, she's full of love!", which may sound like a slam, but it most definitely wasn't. I didn't need a smart dog I guess, and I got a retriever that couldn't figure out how to bring a ball back to me. But she was a happy, happy dog and was always ready to lay a 'dog hug' on me. That dog saw me through some shit, I'll say that. Whenever things got even worse than I was sure they could ever be...there was my Kitty-girl, ready as always to lay her enormous head on me, crush my feet by laying them while furiously wagging her tail, or insisting we go outside & see all the awesomeness of the world. I got way more than I ever expected when I picked up that little yellow fluffball, that eating machine on 4 legs.

Oh, where does the time go?
