  •  Former Senator, Byron Dorgan, has been a (7+ / 0-)

staunch supporter of Native American rights.  The Native American population knows who is on their side.  Heidi spent a lot of time talking to the Native Americans in our state and posted pictures on her website of the various meetings she had on the reservations during this campaign.  They know she is the real deal.  To illustrate the difference between the Heitkamp and Berg campaigns, one only has to see what they did their last day on the trail (Nov. 5).  Heidi was participating in multiple campaign rallies in small towns and larger communities, drinking lots of coffee and eating donuts with the locals.  She and the other Dem candidates took their "Bring It Home, Heidi" bus tour to the communities.  Rick Berg, on the other hand, visited several business owners and his campaign offices.  Prairie Rose is a is fired up advocate for her fellow Native Americans and Democratic policies.  This reach out to the Native Americans was not pandering on Heidi's part; it was genuine.
