    in the USA, unless Perot or Nader are running. It's Yes/No GOP/Democratic Party. In such a circumstance, it seems numbers and science do matter.

    But normally, I agree with the guy that I almost never agree with normally (i.e. David Brooks): "If you tell me you think you can quantify an event that is about to happen that you don`t expect, like the 47 percent comment or a debate performance, I think you think you are a wizard.     I think this is true, especially the last bit. The models have a fundamental flaw, and that's the need for closure which forecloses on variability and complexity. This is the very reason I can't stand Austrian Economics and the wrongheaded conclusions drawn from Adam Smith's writing.
