    people who are willing to accept a preposterous story of creation and spirits in the sky.

      ...one of my own understanding, anyway...

      ...but I and many others like me easily recognize the difference between spiritual faith and earthly fact.

      Earth is where we live at the moment.

      Math, climate science, evolution, demographics, biology things like that...they have nothing to do with faith.  

      Facts are facts.  Reality is reality.  And having faith doesn't preclude thinking.

      They have something different than faith...they have cultic certainty.

        Faith is belief in impossible things.
        And the problem I have with most "people of faith" is that, faced with facts that contradict their faith, they stick with the comfortable fable rather than face the painful truth or worse, the terrifying UNKNOWN.
