the Senate , for instance Chris Murphy is a true Democrat vs Liebermann who he replaces. I do not know about some of the others but most seem more progressive than who they replaced.

    •  go through the list (4+ / 0-)

      New   vs Old  -  judgment

Warren v Brown -  more progressive

King v Snowe  -  probably little change

Donnelly v Lugar  -  somewhat more progressive

Baldwin v Kohl  - somewhat more progressive

Kaine v Webb  - mixed bag, probably a bit more progressive

Hirono v Akaka - more progressive on a number of issues

      Heinrich v Bingaman  - probably a wash

Heitkamp v Conrad - somewhat more progressive

I do not see a single case where a new Dem senator is LESS progressive than the person being replaced

      •  I agree and hopefuly in the case of King, he is (0+ / 0-)

with the Democrats, caucus with them and supports Leader Reid. Whereas, Yes Snowe voted with Democrats on some issues but in the end, supported McConnnell and Republicans for the most part.

I think Kaine might be a wee more progressive than Webb, as former head of the DNC and close friend of the President, that helps us too.
