    do you agree that the premise of your entire first comment was wrong?
    No. The diarist characterized Boehner's position as "the new revenue must come from economic growth unleashed by tax reform" (direct quote from diarist). But Boehner also said he was willing to accept more revenue from "fewer loopholes" (direct quote from Boehner). Thus the diarist mischaracterized Boehner's position. And not just on any random thing, but on the one thing on which Boehner and the Dems have the most potential for agreement.

    That was the gist of my first comment.

    Where does your "some have dubbed this a compromise" quote come from?
