I think the only way to get anything done is let the tax cuts expire. If Rs want to pass an Obama middle-class tax cut in January they can, or they can face the wrath of the people.
I also think the sequester should happen.
We have the leverage here.
I'm glad Barack Obama is our President.

the Rs have offered nothing instead and would only trade defense cuts for cuts in social programs.

If we just allow all the Bush tax cuts to expire, and then sent Congress a separate bill to restore the middle class part, will that also result in billions of automatic spending cuts??? And how much of those spending cuts are needed programs like Medicaid, food assistance, housing assistance, etc???

Some spending cuts hit domestic programs, but I'm not sure which ones. They also are over 10 years, I think.

So, if we let all the Bush tax cuts expire and send Congress a separate bill it affects nothing but the tax cuts???
It doesn't auto generate the spending cuts or sequester??

Changing the sequester takes a new bill passed and that is unlikely without a compromise.

President, thank and encourage Reid and labor. OFA got the President elected. NOW is the time to collect.
2012-2016 President Obama, Vice President Biden, Senator Warren. For a LIFETIME, federal judges. Get the filibuster changed. Harry, the people have spoken. To all Democrats: do not reach across the aisle, your hand will get cut off. Steamroll.
