    that the political alignment of first time voters usually remains the same throughout their lives.

    If true, that's good news for Democrats.

      I'd love to see an analysis of whether or not it's first two actively voting, or first two in line.

      My first two electoral memories are standing in line so Mom could vote for Clinton in 1992 and standing in the primary line with Mom so she could vote for him again, and having it carefully explained to me that even though he wasn't in danger of losing the primary our family was voting for him so he'd know he had us as supporters in the general too in our very red state. I wasn't even out of middle school.

      By the time I was nearly done with high school, my party identification was set. I wasn't even eligible to vote yet.
