    "Voters decide to keep traditional marriage."

    That's right, traditional heterosexual couples can continue to marry and divorce exactly as before in Maine, Maryland and Washington, while same-sex couples also get to make their own marital decisions for themselves.

    (Seriously, that "keep traditional marriage" framing, as if someone was trying to take it away, is so freaking dishonest.)

      the movement has cleverly managed to co-opt the word "Marriage" and that's been helpful.

      New York marriage equality was "New Yorkers united for marriage," WA was "Washington United for Marriage..."

      It's a subtle rebranding, but at least it's more honest, because a yes vote is a vote to let people marry. A no vote is a vote to deny people the opportunity to marry.

      The opposition really is the anti-marriage crowd.

      Supporter: "Senator, you have the vote of every thinking person!" Adlai Stevenson: "That's not enough, madam, we need a majority!"
