    Your point about technology changing is key.  If fact I heard something about people worrying that future Republicans would try to replicate the Obama campaign's analytics in future and the Plouffe/Messina/Axelrod peeps said they should go ahead because they were already moving forward with new technologies and modes of analysis. I think that intersects perfectly with your point about changing technology.  

    That all said, I also agree with Plouffe that a candidate has to create their own grassroots campaign so there is a sense of investment.  I have no problem with this statement ; totally get his point.

    I vote Democratic because I am a woman with self-respect , who rejects bigotry of all kinds, subscribes to science, believes in universal health care, embraces unions, and endorses smart internationalist foreign policy.

      basic political operations...ID, persuade and record, focus on your voters.   The database has that info in it, now the next candidate has to have the same engagement to get those voters out!
