Nobody has tried the obvious and put together a Conservative Party to engage in national politics.  I think it would be neat to see the Conservative Party get only 20% of the vote, coming in behind the Republican Party and the winning Democratic Party.  Perhaps that's what they're afraid of.

... are exactly that, for different visions of what it means to be "conservative".

I agree with the commentator somewhere above that Cain is a better fit for the Reform party. It was on the ballot in Florida, but because of factionalism failed to make the ballot anywhere else (says the Wikipedia machine).`

That was me.  I made the suggestion first in here and then repeated it.  As I wrote, the Reform Party already has a history of being run by an eccentric egomaniac with lots of money and being a haven for ambitious conservatives who don't feel at home in the Republican Party.

... I read the comment for content and the identity of the commentator passed me right by.

One thing that just occurred to me about the Reform Party is that since it selects its candidates by convention, members can remain Republican primary voters.

A broad 3rd party alliance to gain ballot access for all members of the coalition would stand a chance of getting the Constitution and Reform parties on the ballot in a large number of states, alongside the Libertarians. In many states there is no limit on how many ballot access petitions an individual can sign, so spreading volunteers around to set up one volunteer with five or six clipboards at a distinct location could have much more ballot access leverage than working alone.
