  •  My understanding is (6+ / 0-)

that they're still finishing up absentees and provisional ballots. Could take a bit. They got a lot more turnout than I think they were necessarily expecting.

    •  They have until the 14th ... (5+ / 0-)

... to tabulate absentee and provisional votes. The SoS needs to certify the results of all races by, I believe, December 15th. If Lungen were to haul this into court (a la Allen West), he could drag it out longer. Hopefully, officials will be able to wrap this up without a bunch of legal showboating, however.

I don't like the guy, but this is just a couple hundred votes and therefore a recount might be justified. West, on the other hand, has clearly lost (the margin is outside the margin necessary for a recount), but is dragging this out because he can't accept he lost. He's just being spiteful.

If the margin stays so thin, I can't really blame the guy if he wants a recount -- that is a tiny vote difference. I just hope he doesn't keep pushing if the answer is clear. He can be sort of, um, interesting on that front, though I doubt he'll go the full Alan West.
