Republican Dan Lungren Has History of Saying ‘No’ to Asian Americans

Almost 25 years ago, a coalition of Asian American individuals and organizations formed to oppose Lungren’s appointment as Calif. state Treasurer, citing his voting record as “anti-minority, anti-civil rights, anti-women, anti-poor and anti-elderly,” the Los Angeles Times quoted Donald K. Tamaki, a San Francisco attorney and spokesman for coalition. “He is a radical, an extremist on many positions.”
I remember that stuff from 25 years ago and have not forgotten so I donated to Ami Bera on Nov. 1 and just sent more to help with the recount after receiving email from Ami:

Thank you for everything. To those of you who made it to our Election Night party, I was honored to share this experience with you. Our campaign was made possible by thousands of ordinary people believing that together we can do big things. And we have.

After the initial count, we are 184 votes up! This lead belongs to everyone who helped our grassroots campaign get out every last vote. You made the difference. But we’re not done yet.

Thousands of absentee and provisional ballots remain and every single one of them matters. We need to raise $50,000 to make sure every vote is counted and this election isn't stolen by lawyers and special interests. I know I've asked a lot, but can you please donate today to help us protect every vote?

We always knew this would be an incredibly close election and that every vote would matter. After your incredible generosity, I apologize for asking for more just hours after the polls closed. But that’s the necessity of the situation we face. And in a way, that’s the beauty of our democracy: every vote counts.

Thank you for all that you do. We have a lot to celebrate. But this is far from over.

    Be well,
