    does. I'm so glad that I could have gone to Ohio. More than anything, I wanted to play a role in this year's election. I was worried that my situation would prevent me from doing that. I kept saying, "As soon as I start working, I'll start volunteering." But the work never came. I then decided to ask folks to sponsor me to go to Pennsylvania to help the campaign there. I was worried that all the confusion caused by the voter id law would suppress the vote and I knew we need PA.

    Well, I finally decided I wasn't going to let anything stop me from doing my part any more, and once I realized POTUS' focus was on Ohio, I made my move.

    I even canvassed for Louise Slaughter here in NY25 during the week when I wasn't volunteering at the community center.

    I'd rather be in the thick of it and worry about dinner than standing on the sidelines watching other people go without dinner.

      I didn't really get into campaign mode until after I had my clean scan results in early October. But taking part even in the limited way I felt capable of doing this year was very empowering. I hope that you also feel that lift for yourself, in contributing to an important cause and a great outcome. The work that you did mattered. {{{{marabout40}}}}

      I'm seeking to organize DKos members in SE Michigan--roughly, from the Ohio line at Lake Erie NE to Port Huron, W to Flint and back S from there. If you'd like to join our new group, Motor City Kossacks (working title), please Kosmail me.
