  •  I agree Bently (7+ / 0-)

If Romney had won (god forbid-its even hard to type those words!), I can guarantee you that I would not have stayed up late to watch anymore.
I don't think this diary is very enlightening. I don't blame the folks watching  Fox that night for turning it off and going to bed.  Realistically-why would anyone expect these people to switch their views in a hour , literally I might add, and support Obama?  Or watch with rapt interest after they found out that Obama had won?
I also am glad that many did not see Rove's insinuating that Ohio might still have gone for Romney. It would just be another reason for them to call " Obama stole the election!!" and get more worked up.

I also think that the viewers that turned Fox off that night were right back to watching it the next night.....

    •  But what it does point out is (6+ / 0-)

      What audiences were watching for.

Fox audiences only cared about the presidential race. Once that was called, they either changed channels or went to bed.

Those watching the other networks were interested in other races as well, so they kept watching.

Or maybe those fox viewers turned to the daily show at 11. I did.
