  •  Ms. jbob has a sister there near OK City (11+ / 0-)

She claims to be a christian. She also forwards an endless stream of racist / hate emails about President Obama.

    •  I don't doubt that for a second! (12+ / 0-)

At my workplace, everyone's upset that Obama won.  I think I am the only person who voted for Obama here.  I haven't said anything because the vitriol against Obama is fierce enough that, as the lone Independent, it could make my job very hard to do and I need to keep it for another 6 1/2 years so I can retire.

My coworkers are always forwarding me anti-Obama, anti-Democrat emails.  I respond by sending them pictures of Itzl. I honestly and sincerely believe he is the sole reason I still have my job. When people bring up politics at work, I talk about Itzl.  When people bring religion up at work, I talk about Itzl. Everyone loves Itzl.

a pertinent scripture - which I quickly lift from the Sojourners mailings I get.  They inevitably involve service and social justice, so it only takes a few seconds.  ;)

The answer I am dying to give to the repeated questions "How did this happen?" and "How did he steal this election?" is

Did you or anyone you know dedicate several hours each week for months making phone calls for your candidate?  Did you volunteer to check on committed voters to make sure they got to the polls?  Did any of you work for him from the primary season until Tuesday?  Did you knock on doors or even make persuasive small talk at the grocery store, coffee shop or sporting events?  Did you even set up an automatic monthly contribution to his campaign?

That's how you steal elections these days.

But, like you, I need to keep my job.

        The truth always matters.
