  •  OK. I think we have to calm down about this. (0+ / 0-)

Both sides have some clout. That's simply a fact. Money bills are passed by the House. It's easy to say "let's go over the cliff", but do any of us want to see a strong contraction in an economy that is so fragile and looks to be recovering? Republicans fully intend to hold our economy hostage. In a hostage negotiation, the primary objective is to save the hostage from harm. No negotiator goes in saying "the heck with the hostage. She's only my aunt. I can handle you shooting her." Let's just see how the President manages this.

      It's hysterical nonsense.

      There is NO fiscal cliff.

      •  Exactly, (0+ / 0-)

austerity is NOT working in Europe.  Andrew Sullivan said the UE rate in Europe (Greece) is around 11 percent.

The U.S. is doing much, much better.

More $$ in the Treasury, more stimulus available (jobs bill) and the deficit goes down.

It's a lie, and I for one hope the BO doesn't fall for it.

        •  I think the Prez gets it. (0+ / 0-)

All I am saying is to let things play out a bit.

      •  There is one if people think there is. (0+ / 0-)

And the legislators in DC clearly - and this includes the President - seem pretty convinced of it. Maybe you should email him and put his mind to rest. Maybe you mean that the cliff has been conjured into existence by agreement but that there is no objective cliff outside of that agreement? Is that what you mean?
