  •  Perhaps they should read the ACA (1+ / 0-)

I suggest you refer those progressive small business owners to the ACA and read it carefully, even though it is over 1,000 pages.  I don't think the act is as threatening as business owners claim it is.   In fact, I believe the ACA offers more flexibility for businesses than they think.

I mean, I just did social media campaigning for Jerry Tetalman when he ran in California's 49th Congressional District against Darrell "Darth Vader" Issa.  Tetalman is a very successful real estate businessman in the Carlsbad area of California and even he's strongly supportive of the ACA.

And also worth noting, Salesforce founder and CEO Mark Benioff was a co-chair of Obama's re-election campaign.  Doesn't seem like Benioff is worried at all about the ACA.

what they should be looking for?  I think most small businesses DO support the ACA, because it gives small business owners and employees critical access to health care.  I'm just saying that while most of the the time a business should be able to afford the penalty, a $2,000 penalty per employee is not insignificant if the business is operating with a low margin.   That's why I think net income maybe would serve as a better floor for the penalty than number of employees, or maybe some other way of calculating the penalty.

      don't know about Tetalman
