While I agree with most of what's been said already in the comments, let me just add that Elizabeth also makes total sense on the Banking Committee because of the rest of the mandate of that committee -- Housing and Urban Affairs.

This is a woman who is in the Senate due to HUGE vote margins in urban Massachusetts, which often gets shortchanged, like many other urban areas throughout the country. Boston had its highest turnout since 1964, people! And she won 3 out of 4 votes cast. And that's just Boston. Those kinds of numbers were replicated in Worcester, Springfield, Lawrence, Lowell, etc.

All of us who live in urban areas of Mass -- and are renters or owners -- and transit riders -- and who care about pollution -- and who worry about the state of our infrastructure -- and who worry that our subway system is literally falling apart -- and who care about the livability of our urban areas -- we need a champion full stop. And holy cow does Elizabeth have what it takes to be that champion!

As much as I'd like to see her as POTUS -- nay dictator of the entire universe LOL -- I gotta say as one of her constituents who worked hard to get her to the Senate, I'm really looking forward to her 20+ year career in the Senate where she will kick butt on a daily basis and almost certainly build a sterling reputation on par with Teddy K.
