Politics is war by other means.

One of the reasons our side won this particular fight is that we understood the other side better than they understand themselves; discussing what Republicans say and do is a necessary part of maintaining this understanding.

A fairy-tale ending where the good guys won and we all live happily ever after would be nice; but you aren't going to get one because those don't exist in the real world, and never in the middle of a war (even if a war by other means). We won a battle Tuesday night but that war goes on. The elites who have trashed this country still have great political power and large sections of the country believing their bullshit. They haven't stopped fighting; they are not going home to live happily ever after; neither can we. And while we're continuing to fight the "bad guys", the "good guys" we elected will at the same time require constant communication and pressure to keep acting like the "good guys" and not diet Republicans.

There is no rest and it goes on until "good government" is the normal state of this country again. And I don't see that goal achieved in my lifetime (I'm 38). I'm sorry to have to rain on your parade, but too many people tried to "live happily ever after" after 2008, and it led to the Charge of The Tea Brigade in 2010.

The war goes on. The enemy is not beaten.
