    to justify it.  In the case of marijuana, there is none.  It is less harmful than alcohol.

      whether or not it's more dangerous or not. There is no reason, none at all, that cultivation and distribution not be regulated. As I read the law in WA, marijuana will be sold in state package stores, just as hard liquor is. Large scale production must be done with state approval, and end users are not allowed to possess large quantities.

      Myself, I don't have a problem of any kind here. I see the way the law is written as an attempt to force production into legal pathways and surpress organized criminal involvement as quickly as possible. Mexican cartels are deeply involved in the pot trade, need to be strangled, and I think this law acknowledges that.
