you beautifully describe the christian social justice movement personified by matthew 25.

Here at Union Theological Seminary (NYC), the Christians among us embody that Christian social justice movement (I'm Unitarian Universalist and don't identify as Christian). They are amazingly involved; prison ministry, urban food/farming, poverty, Occupy chaplains, foreclosure prevention, interfaith work, ethical eating, healthy sexuality, LGBTQ activism, immigration... you name it, someone here is passionate about it.

And the best part? Half of them will go into congregational ministry and bring that passion with them into our churches. The other half with work in communities on various levels and bring that passion to the streets.

I have such great hope for our next generation of religious leaders. They are passionate, focused on community, ready to shed useless dogma and embrace humanity in their journeys toward wholeness, healing, and the Divine.

(I'm in my late 40s - I think this is my fourth career change? But many here are in their 20s - some right out of college - and they are amazing.)
