has already arrived in most of the rest of the world, and American politicians and Christians refuse to accept it.  Their argument always revolves around "a society without religion is a society without a moral compass), which of course is BS, and it can be conclusively shown to be BS.

I live in Japan, and while religion is practiced here for ceremonial purposes (mainly Buddhist funerals, Shinto or Christian weddings, mainly Shinto festivals and holidays), the honest truth is that almost everyone here is an atheist by the American Christian definition.  Japan has its problems, sure, but we don't see the Jack Chick comic nightmare scenarios of riots, murder, rape, and pillaging.  Indeed, people here get along with each other, help one another, and enjoy a robust social safety net.  Reality does indeed have a bias.

    •  Yes, but that might have more to do with the (0+ / 0-)

polytheistic/pantheistic nature of those religions.  After all, with 8 million (!) gods what do you expect?  Though that does mean you get things like people getting their computers blessed/purified to ward off crashes and viruses (Kanda-Myojin shrine, in Tokyo near Akihabara, I think).

You have watched Faux News, now lose 2d10 SAN.
