    •  Here in Indy, its Bazbeau or bust. (3+ / 0-)

When I first moved here I was devastated. In NYC, I was used to having good pizza of almost every corner. Moving to Indy, I tried to eat the glop that the chains produce - I couldn't stand it.

So I went without pizza for months, until I discovered Bazbeau, which has three restaurants in Indy, one is  only a couple of blocks away from where we now live. It's the only place I'll order from. It's a little pricier than the chains, but its real pizza with fresh ingredients.

I think Papa John's deserves a boycott. And I'm going to write a letter to Peyton Manning, asking him why he endorses a company that would punish its workers in a fit of political pique.

      •  Bazbeaux / Ale Emporium (0+ / 0-)

Agreed on Bazbeaux's but for good pizza also try the Ale Emporium which is across the street from the Castleton Mall. Awesome pizza and good brew on tap.

        •  I'll definitely check it out. (1+ / 0-)

We are frequently in that area to shop. My Chinese spouse demands a weekly sojourn to Asia Mart and I'm quite fond of Trader Joe's.

and we've learned to make our own pies because the pizza here tastes like crap. There are exceptions to the rule but the places we like aren't exactly within walking distance of our home. This is why my wife and I have perfected the art of the homemade pizza.

Their owner, George Schenk,  is politically progressive, a board member of Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, and a major advocate for local agriculture.  They use top notch local ingredients, and their food is fantastic.

And their frozen pizzas are available across the country... and not bad for a frozen pizza.

Anyone around Everett WA looking for good pizza must check out Giorgio's Pizza. That's good stuff, just ate there last night.
