  •  Put pressure on Manning, too. (5+ / 0-)

It's absurd for Manning to be standing with this guy.  Manning will have no problem getting another gig with someone else.  Furthermore, this sorry excuse for making pizza is the same guy that had a fundraiser at his house for Romney (cue the white pants party).  So for him to say he has no political allegiances is ridiculous.

    •  Love the Manning family (0+ / 0-)

I've been following the Mannings as far back as Archie's college days. Sure they're rich & live in a bubble but I never thought of them as mean people. Color me disappointed that Peyton contributed to several Republican candidates, including former classmate Bob Corker. Further disappointed that he has appeared in this free pizza giveaway commercial, knowing what I've known about Schnatter or whatever his name. I guess it's all about the money. It's sad that Peyton is on the wrong side of this, because I'm a fan.

      •  Peyton is not the squeaky clean person (0+ / 0-)

        portrayed in his image.

Personally I have no use for people like him. read up on what he did to his trainer at the U. of Tennessee. Another dumb jock meathead.

      •  Sorry, I don't see that... (0+ / 0-)

OK, maybe as a Patriots fan I'm shamefully biased have good reason to intensely dislike both Mannings (and I do). But Peyton always struck me as an insulated me-first money-whoring goober who would shill for a lead paint toy company if he thought it would get him more commercial air time and more money. And now he owns a few Papa John's franchises!!! Money, money, money!! Peyton loves his $$$$$$$!!!!

As for Eli, as for still seeing him as a lucky overrated quarterback who was in the hot-place-at-the-right time in TWO Super Bowls (grrrrrrr!!!!), I've disliked him ever since his disgusting behavior when he was drafted in 2004: "I'm too good to play for the lowly San Diego Chargers! I'm a MANNING!!!! I'm ENTITLED to play in New York, dammit!! Daddy, can you help me out here??"

Peyton Manning "works" for John Elway (who is Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the Broncos), and Elway endorsed Romney.

Elway was instrumental in bringing Manning to Denver, sealing the deal.
