And imo, so are all the rest of those moderate republicans.  And there ARE plenty of moderate republicans. We do not have a nation of 48% tea baggers.

What we do have is an opposition party being run off the rails by an extreme right wing group, BECAUSE of silent moderate republicans, who go right ahead and vote for republicans with a shrug, because they really don't believe it's all that bad.

I know, I've got a few of them in my family.  And they just don't believe that the Ryan budget was ever real, they don't believe, had they won, that the GOP would have cut the medicaid another family member relies on.  They will tell you they don't support the far right's platform, but they are not concerned that it's taken over their party, in fact, they don't believe it has.

It's gob smacking.  And I'll tell you something.  If the Democratic left behaved in a way I disagreed with as much as I know some republicans disagree with the right wing, and if that Democratic left had the power the republican right does, I'd be fighting my ass off to shove them out.

This is not happening with republicans.  They don't get it yet.  Not at all.  Fasten your seat belts for 2014, it's going to be more of the same.
