  •  Good morning (7+ / 0-)

thinking about the political system as a show that diverts attention from the real issues

this is not a new insight,

but once again have liberal radio here in Columbus OH after several years gone

and I am unable to listen to most of the commentators

it is normal political talk which is better than the right wing junk, but it does not get to the real issues

so I turn it off and go to classical music

Noam Chomsky interview about the election at end of his  observations about Gaza. Short video.

Check out the link for the first few words on the election

selectively listening to news reports on YouTube, like selected segments of DemocracyNow, TheRealNews, and some other ones.   Lately I've been trying out some other citizen journalists/broadcasters to see how I like them.  Sort of like a news playlist for the day.  I really can't handle the regular media anymore.  It is sickening.  I used to listen to TalkLeft on satellite radio but that was awful too except for Hartmann.  Don't have satellite anymore so I don't know if it has gotten better or worse.
