    a diary about poverty and the lackluster recovery that rather bookends this one. I was struck in particular by this quote from Greg Kaufmann so I saved it. The period he is referencing is,I think,just 2010 to 2011.

    Finally, the number of people living below twice the poverty line — less than about $36,000 for a family of three — rose from 103 million to 106 million Americans.
    Hardly the wage levels that can fuel demand are they? And these are the "lucky" working class because they are doing better than the nearly 50 million Americans in poverty.
