    Segregation was the reason many black athletes didn't play for the major public universities in the south. It wasn't until Northern schools with black athletes started beating the crap out of the southern powers that the coaches pushed for integration.

    The southern states get the most money from the federal government yet they don't want the government in their lives.

    Perhaps cutting funding to the Alabamas, the LSUs, and the Old Misses of this world would change their minds. Unfortunately, it's a dream that will never come true.
