    I'm guessing that a lot of places have this kind of discrepancy between voting age population and registered voters since it takes several election cycles to purge people who have moved or died off the rolls. Those names are still on there while at the same time they're adding people that move in or turn 18 that year & register. You're spot on in that the number to look at is how many people actually voted.

    I've said this a lot about today's Republicans but it always pops into my head. The party seems to be comprised of Emily Litella's except they're not as sweet & they never ever ever say 'never mind'.

      Gilda doing that character in a long time. Alas, if the problem was just a matter of not hearing correctly. I think we could cure Republicans of that. I just don't even see any point in trying to introduce facts to them anymore.

      I found it more cathartic to write this diary, then trying to engage the person who posted that petition on her Facebook wall. What would be the point? She'd just be back tomorrow, posting something just as ignorant.
