into the political arena is inappropriate in my view.

I am simply tired of these religious leaders (of any faith) trying to make our country fit their church's purpose.

My faith is confident enough that I feel no need to force others to my belief through the voting booth.

Wonders are many, but none so wonderful as man.

    •  Funny, most people think MLK inserted himself (0+ / 0-)

if not in as blatantly partisan a way as happens now (both major parties pre Southern Strategy had major problems with racism, after all), he certainly wasn't  murdered over doctrinal disagreements.

I'm all for more religious progressives as well as secular of all flavors working together.  I'm just not interested in more religious right wingers that are just ever so slightly less rabidly Gospel of Wealth and hellfire than Robertson and his ilk and expect fawning gratitude for it.

      •  Even now I think "Souls to the Polls" (0+ / 0-)

played a big part in getting out the black vote in the Southern states in particular, and may well have been decisive in Florida and Virginia (and came closer than it could have been in NC).
