I had a lot of the same emotions flavoring my gloating id. You captured it all, especially the slow (too slow for my taste) dawning that the old America is sliding into history and for better or worse time does march on. hu

especially the older women dissolving into tears, and I feel a sudden urge to sympathize with their anger and grief, I stop and remind myself of a three-word phrase:

      Purple. Heart. Band-aids.

And I remember the smug, malicious, ignorant smile on the woman bearing such an symbol, and what it was supposed to signify.

Somehow my empathy goes poof! after that.

Me, I hope their grief and pain last a loooooong time.

      They had it coming.
