  •  President Obama should fire (8+ / 0-)

Ed DeMarco, acting director of  the Federal Housing Finance Agency, immediately after the president is sworn in for a second term .  The only reason he didn't do it when DeMarco refused to reduce principal amounts on troubled mortgages back in July, when both Geithner and Obama instructed him to do so, is that he would have had to push a new nominee for the post through the senate in the middle of his re-election campaign.

Now that the Democrats have picked up two seats in the senate, and Harry Reid is promising filibuster reform, firing DeMarco should be the #1 priority on the president's to-do list the first day of his new term.
