  •  This is so obviously revenge (8+ / 0-)

The business landscape didn't change overnight on election night.  Anyone that's talking this week about laying people off in wake of Obama's victory have betrayed their political (and not business) reasons for doing so.

They have also betrayed their greed, their juvenile petulance and their profound lack of the most basic understanding of how business actually works.

I think the diary the other day about how Papa John's can afford to give away a million free pizzas but can't afford to give their employees basic health care is excellent framing and we should be using it anytime we're talking about this.  It shows precisely why the reasoning behind cutting employee hours is entirely political and has nothing to do with actual business costs.  It also shows the Papa John's CEO to be the greedy, heartless, childish, bullying bastard that he is, which of course is a prerequisite for being a Republican in today's Republican Party.
