Very wrong. First because  you seem to base your case on the notion that Patty Murray did a great job in the Senate elections. Sure she did, but that is irrelevant to what she said about the debt.

They are unrelated, and just because someone did a good job on one task, does not excuse them from using factually inaccurate republican talking points on a completely unrelated issue. And make no mistake it is factually inaccurate, we do not have a tremendous deficit and debt problem. The fact is that our debt to gdp ratio, the real measure of the health of the debt level, is not anywhere near as high as it has been in the past during the most prosperous time in American history. And if you take it internationally, it's not particularly higher than the debt to gdp ratio in a number of prosperous foreign nations.

What is factually accurate, is that we do have a public investment and jobs problem. So yes, it's possible to give kudos for a job well done on her Senate re-elections assignment, while at the same time not letting her get away with using republican talking points to make vacuous and irrelevant points about problems that are not really problems at all. We have actual problems to solve and we need her talking about and dealing with them, not giving aid and comfort to the enemy because it happens to be politically convenient.
