help soldiers who suffer the silent, hidden wounds of war. They recognize that while those who die in service deserve the highest honors, there are others who die from the hidden wounds of war who can easily be forgotten.
Has there been another combat period where the fighters were stressed this badly?  Daily bombings for their 12 month deployments--stretched to 15 months.  Buddies blown up daily.

And these returning heroes were expected to muster out, pay for their lost or damaged equipment, and blend into American society.  We know what happens when a muscle or a bone is overstressed.  It breaks.  We're seeing what happens when a mind is overstressed.  It also breaks, but we don't want to see it and don't want to pay to fix it as best as possible.

and I'm worth every penny they don't pay me, is Outreach Coordinator for the Mindful Veterans Project, a nonprofit which teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) free to any veteran who shows up for our classes. The benefits of MBSR are well documented, especially, as in my own case, for the symptoms of PTSD and for Military Sexual Trauma (MST).

one hand, can't do it alone, if everyone reaches out, there will be enough hands to hold these men and women up and help them move forward.

Women are 51% of the population yet are represented in congress by barely 17%! Until our representation reflects the population, we risk sliding backwards .....
