In ND, John Hoeven's seat isn't up until 2016, and let's face it--it will probably be Hoeven's for life.

there could be change. R governor does not mean R senators. Milton Young and Quentin Burdick were there forever.

When I lived there, the farmers in ND expected value for their money. Of course, there are fewer farmers now.

Young was a Republican.  That said, I think ND's current Republican Senator is going to be very difficult to unseat any time soon. Before winning the Senate seat with 75% of the vote in 2010, John Hoeven was the nation's longest serving and most popular Governor.  Some day, North Dakotans might find Hoeven has become distant from them and too enthralled with Washington and be ready to replace him; but in ND that kind of fall from favor can take decades.

Besides which, I think Ed is a Minnesota resident, not North Dakota.

          •  I think Governor Guy was there longer. (0+ / 0-)

Yes, Young was an R and brought a ton of military bacon home.

As for residency, I know John McCain was not born or raised in Arizona.
