  •  I actually really like this idea. (5+ / 0-)

The hard part would be passing the information around in such a way that employers would not be able to spot and recognize the signs.  If it's on the internet, it'll get found.

    •  Good. Terrify the b@st@rds. Make them waste (3+ / 0-)

time first thing in the morning and every night SCOURING their building, location, ads, signs, out on the sidewalk, everywhere. Strike the fear of economic ruin upon them, it's the ONLY THING THAT WORKS. Reason doesn't work any more. Asking them to be American doesn't work. Asking them to understand GREED IS A SIN doesn't work. Time to stop fooling around. If they remove one, another 'bo will come around and replace it soon enough. Let them know exactly what that sign means and why they are getting it.

      •  That's a different tactic. (3+ / 0-)

The point of this is not to frighten the powerful; it's supposed to be entirely below the radar of the powerful.  The point of this is for the powerless to quietly, discreetly, invisibly, offer helpful information to each other.

Frightened bosses don't knuckle under; they look for scapegoats.  A lot of people will lose their jobs if they openly put up negative signs, and a lot of other people will decide it isn't worth the risk to themselves.  If you want the signs to be public and visible to all, then they can't be traceable to employees.

    •  I like the Dishonest Man or Brutal Man signs (3+ / 0-)

and the unsafe water signs too [shades of fracking].

      •  A lot of the signs seem applicable. (0+ / 0-)

And I'm sure new ones could be invented.

I'd like to see signs specifically indicating "sexist bosses" / "sexist coworkers", and similar for "racist" and "homophobic".  Maybe with variations, ranging from "seriously unsafe" to "well-meaning but clueless".
