she was raised in Minnesota.  She told me of this type of soup, and that the coffee was perpetual as well.

both my grandparents were from Sweden and lived in Minnesota and I know they always had coffee on the stove.  But I never knew her to make soup.  Pot Roast was her famous meal, I can taste it now.  Yum.  The gravy was out of this world and I'm sure cogged a few arteries in their day.  They made zillions of Christmas Cookies every year, starting about this time of year.  That is what I think I miss the most.

the stories.  She also said that she was born early, so they kept her in a cigar box in a warm part of the stove and she made it.  She cooked turkey in a paper bag until my grandfather found out, and said he could taste the paper!

She had great stories and told them well !
