...letters to the editor get published only once a week at most...and just one letter.  They predominantly are a screed against liberal view points.  And they are really just egos with opinions...fact free zones.

The paper's editor is right wing and clearly decides what gets published from the public.  Plus, the paper has really lost lots of distribution...down to around 4000 now out of an area of approximately 50,000...

Ignorance is bliss only for the ignorant. The rest of us must suffer the consequences.

I subscribe to my hometown weekly which has a small circulation.  They only printed letters from the right until I wrote one challenging some of the assertions in one of them.  The editor called me to verify my identity so I told him that I had graduated high school with his oldest brother and my brother had graduated with his next youngest brother.  My letter was printed.  One of the wingnuts since passed away and none of the others have felt inspired to write more.

"Government takeover of healthcare" was an easy one because the writers were themselves for the most part on Medicare and Social Security.   The editor of which I speak is also the owner in this case and was smart enough to see the nonsense once it was pointed out to him.  Take the risk.  You never know how it will turn out.
