  •  Gotta understand, Maria *is* the 1%. (7+ / 0-)

She is paid extremely handsomely to hold a microphone on the floor of the NY Stock Exchange and condescend to the plebes about what is going on.

So naturally, after writing checks for the Beemers, the Nanny, the brownstone on Central Park West and the 'cottage' in the Hamptons, Maria is feeling a bit strapped with her net worth of $20 million plus.

    •  She's married to a hedge fund guy (2+ / 0-)

I cannot STAND people who complain about how expensive it is to live in NYC because of the private school, the nanny, etc.  I know exactly how expensive it is, because I sent my kids to private school and had a full-time nanny.  Of course, I only had one nanny, and didn't have a house in the Hamptons, and didn't wear "important" jewelry...but I digress. The point being, if you can afford to pay NYC private school tuition and employ a nanny, you are not living hand to mouth. You are living an exceptionally privileged life, even if you lack a house in the Hamptons or important jewelry.  The difference between Maria Bartiromo and me is that (apart from not being married to a hedge fund guy), I feel incredibly lucky, and she feels likes she's living hand to mouth.

      •  There ya go. Gold plated privilege, and still, (1+ / 0-)

she can't help herself. Still has to smack the crap out of the blue collar folks her husband is robbing blind with his 15% 'carried interest' tax rate.
