What alarms me is that the Commander in Chief is not right wing.  So I guess I wonder why Petreus put right-winger think tanks into the lead, or seemingly in the lead, when they are of the party defeated in our Democracy.  The country said we did not want Bush/Cheney's policies in war or anything else.  They are discredited.  Their reputation is not good with the majority of the people who think about the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars.  So is it not disrespectful, if not downright subversive, to put into play people at times in opposition to commanders, right wingers who are part of the regime out of power?

I keep wondering if we would have done a better job in Afghanistan if the Commander in Chief had people who are more loyal and reliable.

I have a feeling the General might have sabotaged himself when he realized he might be rotting from the inside.
