  •  Answer: press for continued job creation (5+ / 0-)

The #1 crisis facing younger people is that there are not enough jobs (or rather, not enough NON-dead-end jobs) for them.  They do not question the value of a college education per se; they rightly question its value when they look at its skyrocketing cost against the rising odds that they won't be able to find a decent entry-level job afterward.

Many other issues are equally important: student loans and college cost, climate change, no unnecessary wars, etc.  But the immediate front-burner concern remains job creation.

    •  I agree we have to find more ways to create jobs. (5+ / 0-)

I support President Obama's infrastructure bank, and industrial policy to accelerate our conversion to sustainable energy, and infrastructure rebuilding and advancement, such as smart-grids.

But, Republicans seem intent on blocking anything that might help the economy making votes more likely to vote for Democrats.

But if we pushed really hard right away we might be able to jawbone it.
