    It's pretty good.  He's not a great writer, but he's reliable and he is very good at managing the tension level so the story keeps moving and is headed somewhere interesting.

    It's sort of a ghost story kind of book.  I don't think I can describe it much more than that.

    I'm disturbed to find out that he doesn't take global warming seriously.  He has a character in the book who believes in conspiracy theories, including global warming.  Sad.  But there's always been a conservative taint in his novels which is only proper if that's the way he swings.  He's not usually offensive about it.  Often it shows up in little ways.
