    I just heard the phrase "angry geezers" one as a two-word description of Rush's audience, and it stuck in my mind.

      How about AWGs? Angry White Guys.
      No, wait. That sounds too much like the Average White Band.
      SAWGs? Stupid Angry White Guys? I mean, that can't be construed to mean us, right?
      HAWGs? Hateful Angry White Guys? Oh, yeah.

      The conservatives are not all just "geezers."  And plenty of "geezers" are liberals.   I just don't think that term works in the conversation very well.

      "the angry white guys" separates them from the other white guys, maybe?   Like all of us older, liberal, ostensibly white guys.
