  •  I think we're all finding our own ways... (5+ / 0-) make fun of their little rants.  We all know in the end they're not going to do shit about secession.  They're just sore losers right now that want to take their toys and go home, but they don't have a home to go to.

I think everyone just needs to take all of these responses to secession in the humorous spirit that I think most of them are made and chill a bit.

It's not unexpected that some on the right would do this.  They've tried everything else.  Hey, calling for secession sounds more sane than saying that a woman's body can shut down pregnancy from rape.  So, it's not the craziest thing the right has said.

These people have tried undermining our democracy from the inside.  I'm not about to entertain the idea of them doing it from the outside.

        What they're advocating involves war.

At least last time they tried it, it did.  Treason is a harsh word, but it fits here.

        •  Let's take seriously the fact that ... (1+ / 0-)

it WAS tried ... and  lots of people died.  And many more died willingly in subsequent world wars, etc., defending their principles.  I wouldn't take the secession wish lightly these days, given the mood of half the country.
