That sums up the GOP's 2012 strategy nicely, an insult to voters' intelligence.

    •  "We need to stop..." means "we have been doing __" (6+ / 0-)

I think he's pissing up a rope here - consider the audience: stupid is as stupid expresses itself - but let's see him try to capture the side of the GOP that is suddenly all panicked and looking for a non-white moderate.  And see him do it by slapping the base upside their heads, repeatedly.  Pass the popcorn!

I still laugh to think of his weird slithery bobble-head-doll entrance when he gave the SOTU response a few years ago.

      •  Excellent point Torta. This is what caught me (2+ / 0-)

eye on this story. Governor Jindal castigates Republican stupidity, mindless sloganeering, and demagoguery in a more colorful way that most Democrats, who have been more cautious and less florid.

Which is one reason we should highlight it. We can just reservedly stand back and say, "well, this is what Republicans are saying, I'm trying to keep on open mind.  I'll  let you know what I think after I've had a chance to do more research."
