  •  CostCo has bundles of wool socks (11+ / 0-)

good quality, about $12-15 per bundle. There's socks for wearing with shoes, and boot socks as well, cost just a bit more. As a kid whose family believed that new socks and underwear were perfectly good gifts for Yule, I'm taking a USPS flat box and stuffing it full of socks to ship this week, while remembering all those 'thank you' notes Mom made me write to the aunties and uncles who made sure every year I had new socks and the like under the Yule tree.

    •  Ooooh, those notes! (6+ / 0-)

The socks I found weren't wool, but not everyone can wear wool, even though it is so nice and warm to wear in the winter.  As my sister's boy aged out of toys, I did get him those wonderful warm wool socks. He was an outdoor boy all year round, and those specialty hunting socks were highly prized for durability and coziness in the woods!

If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
