  •  They need to say a firm NO (19+ / 0-)

to raising the age, decreasing the benefits, or making the earned benefits of Medicare and Social Security "needs based".  There are far too many people already "going bare" (unable to obtain or afford health insurance) until they are eligible for Medicare.

Making them "needs based" is a Republican plan because they become a "welfare program" rather than a benefit we earned and paid into.  Welfare programs, the GOP knows, are far easier to kill off.

The country spoke, loudly, about the need for Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security to be unfooledaround with.

Take the cap off of withholding and keep the cap on the benefits themselves.  Let Medicare negotiate drug prices.  And stop treating the Pentagon and the massively expensive and bloated Homeland Security as a sacred cows with ever increasing amounts of taxpayer money placed upon their altars.

    Good places to start.

There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.
