But, I hope she doesn't leave.  We need her because she's good at negotiation.  We can't have someone like Hoyer because that would give the GOP side of the aisle what they want: DINOS who would work more with them than with their own party.

I am sick of our side rolling over and playing dead at every whim of the Republicans.  Now more than ever, it is time for the Dems to assert ourselves and our power when it comes to doing the business of the people.  We need people in place who will make that happen.  No more Mr. Nice Guy.  We need the fire and passion from the DNC convention to put our foot down.

but it is just a gross exaggeration.

For if there is a sin against life, it consists perhaps not so much in despairing of life as in hoping for another life and in eluding the implacable grandeur of this life. - Albert Camus

I would hope that some of the politicians remember the story of the "Scorpion and the Frog", but still there is the move to be "chummy" with the Republicans.

Yet, I yearn that there is at least one elected member who will learn that the Republicans are not our friends.  They will never be our friends.  And the ones who are willing to negotiate are gone and eclipsed by the Teabaggers.

The needs still stay the same though: we need fighters.

because we have to. This has nothing to do with liking. If anyone thinks that the President gets to have his way because he won an election, they are delusional. We do have to negotiate with the majority Party in the House. That's just a fact.

Yet, it makes you wonder who truly has the power.

a strength and a weakness. The parliamentary system is much more one of the winner pretty much calling all the shots. For good or ill, our system needs a lot of wheeling and dealing.
